We recently completed a major award design engagement for an international organization which required us to look at regional award programs. We have designed several award programs in the Arab World that reinforce and incent key socio-economic behaviors for governments, social sector organizations, and the private sector. Here are a few examples:

Establishing a Regional Arab Management Excellence Award: By recognizing exceptional management performance, an award would develop a critical mass of trained and experienced managers to guide the region’s development.

Promoting Youth Reading in the Arab World: Across the region, youth reading habits are poor. We developed a program to motivate children in grades K-6 to read by rewarding reading accomplishments with praise, recognition, and tangible awards.

Increasing Female Labor Market Participation With Scholarships: In several countries in the Arab World, women face significant obstacles to obtaining higher education and entering the workforce. We developed an e-Scholarships for Women Initiative to mitigate access, equality, and labor participation challenges through online education.

In the process, we have developed a good idea of award programs in the Arab World which we wanted to share with our readers.
